Professional anaesthetic services
Based in Milton Keynes, MKCA can provide a wide range of anaesthetic services for all types of surgery across the region. The consultants all hold NHS posts at Milton Keynes University Hospital and provide anaesthetic and pre-assessment services to surgeons operating at the Saxon clinic and Blakelands hospital in the independent sector.

DR MALLI BHARAMGOUDAR

Dr Bharamgoudar is a very experienced anaesthetist with a background in Intensive Care and airway management, he leads on governance for MKCA. He enjoys cricket!
DR JOSEPH (ANDREW) COONEY
MBBS FRCA
Dr Cooney is a longstanding and hardworking member of MKCA, who also has expertise in professionalism and is an associate medical director at MKUH
DR PREETI DEWAN
MBBS FRCA
Dr Dewan is the chair of the MKCA group, and came to Milton Keynes following a fellowship in Vancouver, British Columbia. She leads on our availability rota and pharmacy and medication safety for MKCA.

Dr Ghuman is a consultant anaesthetist with an interest in recovery and perioperative care.
DR SAHANA JALADI

Dr Jaladi is a consultant anaesthetist with particular expertise in airway management and runs the Milton Keynes Difficult Airway course for staff

Dr Kalla is an experienced anaesthetist and perioperative physician with a background in education and training, and leads on preoperative assessment for MKCA
DR NIKOS MAKRIS
MBBS, MRCP, FRCA, FFICM
Dr Makris is an experienced consultant in anaesthetics and intensive care, with an interest in preoperative assessment and transfer medicine. He is an Associate Medical Director at Milton Keynes University Hospital.
DR HAMID MANJI

Dr Manji is the lead paediatric anaesthetist for MKCA, has an interest in airway management and is also the divisional director for sugery at MKUH

DR SURESH MENON
MBBS FRCA FFICM
Dr Menon specialises in regional anaesthesia and painless recovery for shoulder arthroplasties, and other orthopaedic surgeries. He has a special interest in remote preoperative assessment systems and risk management and he is a founding member of Buckingham Medical School.
DR ANWAR RASHID
MBBS, MD, FRCA, EDRA
Dr Rashid was an established consultant anaesthetist in Bedford before recently joining the Milton Keynes practice. He has expertise in regional anaesthesia.
DR WASSIM SHAMSUDDIN
FRCA MB, BS BSc (Hons) Dip RTM
Dr Shamsuddin is a consultant anaesthetist and pre-hospital physician and is the regional transfer lead for adult critical care. He has strategic and operational management experience in ambulance and event medicine and a special interest in providing anaesthesia for paediatric, ENT, orthopaedic and laparoscopic surgery.
DR JAMIE STRACHAN

Dr Strachan is a consultant in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine, and an Honorary Senior lecturer of The University of Buckingham. His special areas of interest and expertise lie in Intensive Care Medicine, Paediatric critical care and anaesthesia for robotic surgery. He is a VERY keen cyclist!
